    What you will do

    As our Digital Channel Specialist, you will be the key link between our commercial business and IT teams, driving the optimization of our digital channels - including our website, customer portal, and EDI integration. Your insights into market trends and customer needs will shape the future of our digital platforms and integration facilities. You will ensure seamless customer onboarding, support Account Managers, and prioritize the development backlog, all with the goal of enhancing our digital offerings

    Within this context, your detailed activities include:

    • Act as the pro-active link between the commercial business and IT teams with regards to Customer Integration & Digital Channel Management
    • Drive initiatives for optimization of our digital channels such as our website, customer portal and EDI integration
    • Understand the wider market landscape and upcoming 3rd party order management and visibility platforms customer utilize
    • Foster an open and active dialogue with customers around their order management and integration needs
    • Actively engage with the commercial business to get input for the channel development backlog and support them during meetings with customers
    • Set backlog priority based on sizing, business priority and customer segmentation together with the business and IT
    • Support the commercial business with creation and refinement of the development request and translate these to feature statements
    • Lead the handover from development phase to testing and/or implementation phase and guide the UAT with the business stakeholders
    • Be the point of contact for the point of contact for the business for issues related to data quality and the functionality of our self-service environment
    • Perform troubleshooting / problem analysis and coordinate actions to have issues identified and solved
    Your team and work environment

    Within Samskip’s commercial domain, you will report to the Head of Customer Excellence, where you will spearhead the customer experience strategy across our digital platforms— including our website, customer portal, and EDI/API integrations. Your role is pivotal in advancing Samskip’s commitment to delivering exceptional digital customer experiences.

    You will collaborate closely with other commercial departments such as Sales, Customer Service and Marketing, while fostering strong partnerships with Samskip’s IT teams, business experts, and key users. Together, you will ensure that digital customer journey is seamlessly implemented across all regions, with well-defined business responsibilities and a robust culture of knowledge sharing.

    This position requires you to bring our commercial organization outside their comfort zone and it calls for a drive for action combined with resilience and patience. You need to enjoy switching between helicopter view and detailed analysis and feel comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.     Your experience and skills for success

    Ideally you have a background in commercial roles with a strong customer focus, and IT savviness. In this role you should have demonstrated:

    • Good commercial business understanding with digital savviness
    • Experience with digital customer channels such as websites, customer portals and other digital self-service environments
    • Strong analytical skills and pro-active and hands-on mentality
    • Thorough working style with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
    • Broad and effective technology, presentation, and communication skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders within the company, technical and non-technical
    • Familiarity with digital experience software and UX tools (preferred)
    • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences

    To become successful in this role, you also possess:

    • HBO education or equivalent in a relevant domain
    • 1 - 3 year experience in commercial and IT savvy business roles
    • English language skills
