    Provide a thorough analysis of the cost control processes and direct operating spend to assist operations management and work together with the Procurement Manager on the quality implementation of the company procurement processes.

    Samskip is looking to create an independent role to review the internal cost control processes and aid in improving cost control awareness throughout the organization. Additionally, this role will provide support to decentralized procurement activities. This should aid in keeping control over the direct operating spend with our suppliers, avoid unnecessary spend, and increase the amount of costs that can be recharged to customers, while also keeping in mind sustainability and other quality aspects throughout the organization’s procurement processes.     Understanding the dynamics of our costs and business

    This is a challenging and wide-ranging role in which you work with financial and operational data to review the correct implementation of various cost control processes. Furthermore, you will provide support in maintaining procurement processes and consolidating detailed information of regional teams. It involves all aspects of operations - land transport by road, rail and water, shipping, ports, terminals, and equipment – and represents an exciting opportunity to help improve Samskip's bottom-line results.

    Detailed core task-related activities include:

    • Thorough checks of Rate Confirmation Notes (RCNs)
    • Regular spot checks on rate entry in operational systems
    • Identify and analyze deviations from solid cost control processes
    • Maintain and update supplier databases and procurement records
    • Close cooperation with operations management to improve the processes where needed
